We are coming to Orlando with our two small children (2 and 10 weeks) and are planning a trip to the Magic Kingdom. We have taken our 2 year old twice last year and kept him cool but I am worried about my 10 week old. Anything besides the babycare area?

    Hi Janelle,

Visiting Magic Kingdom with little ones is such a magical experience! I remember watching my daughter's eyes twinkle when she was a baby looking around in wonder at all that there is to see.

It sounds like you already know about the Baby Care Centers, and you are right, they are wonderful places to go and take a break to keep your little one cool. The Baby Care Centers offer facilities for feeding, changing, and just taking a break with your child. Let me offer you some other thoughts for a successful, cool day at Magic Kingdom with your little ones.

First, arrive at the theme park early. The early mornings tend to be the coolest times of day. I know that many young children wake up early, and this can work to your advantage! Head to Magic Kingdom as soon as you can in the day, and experience the park in these cool hours. Another bonus to this is that many other guests will not wake up early, so you can experience many attractions with shorter queues.

Frequent breaks in air conditioning are a good idea. Even though your little one might not eat, making a lunch reservation somewhere that you can sit down and cool off will help. One of my favorite lunch spots at Magic Kingdom is the Jungle Navigation Co. Ltd. Skipper Canteen. This restaurant is a great place to cool off and have a wonderful meal - and there is often a big container of ice water in the lobby for you!

Another idea is to head to indoor attractions. These are air conditioned, and generally queues are air conditioned once you are inside. The queues also have so much to look at and interact with that they should help to keep your little ones entertained.

I hope that these thoughts are helpful for you, Janelle!
