We are coming in late April with our 5 year old son. I was wondering what are the most "fun" places to eat that are not character dining but would be fun for a small child? Also, which is more fun, Mickey's Backyard BBQ or Hoop Dee Doo?

Hi, Kim!  I asked this question to my 5 year old son who is a self-proclaimed Disney Expert!

His number one answer was to eat at Pizza Planet at Hollywood Studios.  It is a counter service restaurant that has pizza and salads (and pretty good chocolate chip cookies!)  There is also a game room which is a nice way to get out of the hot sun for a break.

Other restaurants my little guy enjoys:

*Beaches and Cream at the Beach Club Resort.  Great burgers and milk shakes.  Try ordering the "kitchen sink" for a treat for the whole family!

*Casey's Corner:  Hot dog shop on Main Street.  My son enjoys the hot dogs and fries loves to sit on the patio and listen to the piano player

*Teppan Edo:  In Japan in Epcot.   They cook your food right in front of you.  Keeps the kids entertained and you get a great meal.

*Rainforest Cafe:  Two locations - Animal Kingdom and Downtown Disney.  Big selection on menu and a lot of stuff to look at while dining.

Between the Backyard BBQ and Hoop Dee Doo, I would choose the Backyard BBQ.  It is a fun dance party, and just a great way to spend the evening.

I hope your son has a wonderful time in Disney World.
