    Jaynee Asked

Coming first week of May, staying at POR. Reading about buses being standing room only at Magnolia section. Should I request something closer to the south depot or walk there from Magnolia for a seat? My autistic DS will not tolerate standing on the bus.

    Hi Jaynee!

I saw your question directed to me after you submitted this one and answered it so check your in-box for a magical email from Disney :-D  As a added note to that answer, if you decide to submit a request to be close to the first Bus Stop when you book your trip, be sure you follow that up by directly calling the Port Orleans Riverside Resort 2 -3 weeks prior to your trip.  I'd also follow that up 5 - 10 days prior to your trip and mentioning when you arrive for Check-In.

I know you're a seasoned Guest but here are a couple of other thoughts that may help your son on your trip.  If he has any comfort items, bring them if possible. If he has head phones or ear plugs to help keep the noise level down, bring them. If he becomes anxious, remember the things you do at home to calm him down.  Do you sing to him?  Keeping it familiar sometimes helps.  I'm a terrible singer but if it helps to calm my son down, I will.  Remember to relax and breathe.  Sometimes you may just have to remove him from the situation until he calms down and try it again later.

Please feel free to visit again with all of your questions.  We're always thrilled to hEAR from you!

Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison V.
