Coming to DW for the first time. Bringing my 5 yr old granddaughter. Arriving at MCO at 10:00 am. on Sunday, Sept 28. Can we get into parks and do things before we check in at 3:00? Can we schedule FastPass+ on that Sunday before we check in

    Hi Cynthia,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I am so excited for you to experience Walt Disney World for the first time with your granddaughter. Be sure to stop by Guest Services at any of the theme parks and pick up a complimentary "1st Visit" button for you and your Granddaughter to wear. You will be delighted at all of the well wishes you will receive throughout your visit.

Although "check-in" time is officially 3:00, you can and should check in at the front desk of your Resort hotel as soon as you arrive. This way your theme park tickets, dining plan and credit card will all be activated via your Magic Band even if your room isn't ready for you quite yet.

You certainly may schedule FastPass+ selections for the day you arrive. Personally I would allow plenty of time to transfer to your Resort hotel via Magical Express, check in, and then take the Disney Transportation System to the theme park of your choice. There is so much MAGIC in the theme parks that even if you are in the parks for an hour or two before your FastPass+ selection, there will be plenty to do.

One suggestion I have is to rent or bring a stroller for your princess. I have learned that even children who no longer use a stroller at home enjoy their vacations more in Walt Disney World with one. If you don't have one that can accommodate an older child consider a Stroller Rental in the theme parks or through one of the featured providers at the bottom of the previously linked page.

Thank you for your question. Please come back and visit us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel if you have any further vacation planning questions. We love to help!

I fell in love with Walt Disney World on my very first visit, which took place during my honeymoon. Since then we have added 4 "mouseketeers" to our family and have come to appreciate what a great value a Walt Disney World vacation can be on a budget. As a Physical Therapist and a mom of a large family, I would love to help you plan your next magical trip! Learn More About Brenda
