We are coming down the week before Easter next year. The crowd calendar looks terribly busy! I'm worried that we won't be able to enjoy the vacation due to the crowds everywhere. Should we reschedule for a less busy time but can't stay as long?

    Hi Melanie,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I am so glad that you brought this question to us!

Although I love crowd calendars, I also know that sometimes the crowds shift. We typically visit the Walt Disney World Resort in July or August. For the past several years we have gone in July. This July felt much less crowded than in years past. For example, we usually have gone to Disney's Hollywood Studios to sign our young recruits up for Jedi Training - Trials of the Temple early and the line quickly starts winding down the street. But this year there was no line, not even at 9:30 a.m. So, I would keep your trip as is and pre-plan as much as you can to save time.

Be sure to make your Fast Pass+ selections - three in advance per day that you have valid theme park admission. If you have the park hopper option, you will have to use your first three at one park before you can make a fourth Fast Pass+ selection at another park. To maximize your Fast Pass+ options, I suggest you make your first three Fast Pass+ selections for early morning, then you have the rest of the day to add an additional Fast Pass+, ride, then add another.

My family typically returns to the resort for a nap or pool time in the afternoon. I have to remind myself that we are there to relax also and I certainly need to do so because walking through the park in blazing heat can lower my patience with crowds! So, we have learned to relax at the resort and enjoy the resort activities.

Melanie, I trust that you will use the My Disney Experience Mobile App to track all of your dining reservations and PhotoPass photos.

Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
