    We are coming down for the Gillian baree syndrome symposium (gbs) in October. My 8 year old Son is a patient and fighter of gbs... Is there anything we can do or the park can do to celebrate him? I have heard he may be eligible for a free ticket etc.. T

    Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel Melissa ~

    It is wonderful to visit Disney World to leave your everyday struggles behind and focus on having fun as a family.

    Disney does not offer free tickets for Guests but there are some organizations such as Make-A-Wish that help coordinate and fund trips for kids with life-threatening illnesses. However, there are so many wonderful things you can do to celebrate your son.

    A character meal is always a must do. My boys love Chef Mickey's and The Crystal Palace. You can make dining reservations beginning 180 days prior to your trip which I'd highly recommend you do. Reservations can be made through the link shown above or by calling 407-WDW-DINE.

    Here are some other ideas to make your son's trip extra magical:
    * The Pirates League
    * Pirates and Pals Fireworks Voyage
    * Jedi Training Academy
    * A Pirate's Adventures: Treasures of the Seven Seas
    * Pirate Adventure Cruise

    At Downtown Disney, check out:
    * Characters in Flight
    * LEGO Imagination Center
    * T-Rex
    * DisneyQuest
    * Splitsville

    Your son may benefit from the use of a Disability Access Service Card (DAS). I'm limited in space but please let me know if you have any questions about the DAS. It is my pleasure to assist you!

    Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison V.
