    We are coming down to Disney on the 29th of this month. We have a party of 10. 5 Adults and 5 Kids (Ages 7,11,13,15,17). This is the 1st time for all of us and I am wanted to get all the benefits. Can you give me some pointers.

    Pamela,

    There are a lot of great things about Walt Disney World, and the most important rule to remember is that you will not see and do it all. That is a good thing, since it means that you were getting to see a lot, and there is something left to come back and see!

    But to your pointers;

    Make sure you get a Celebration button at any of the park Guest Services desk to show that you are all on your first Disney vacation. That does not mean you get a lot of free stuff, but it does cue Cast Members to know you are new to the experience. You will find they do a great job of welcoming you, helping you find your way around, and they might throw in a sprinkle of fairy dust here and there!

    Be prepared to split up. With 10 people, you might find it better to break into two or three smaller groups. This way the 17 year old can be on a roller coaster, while the 7 year old is on something more his/her speed.

    Explore the resort. Anyone can visit the Disney resorts, and they can be a fun visit for the family. I love going to the Wilderness Lodge, Animal Kingdom Lodge, and the Polynesian for the in-depth theming. But any of them can offer a fun exploration area, and are great places to grab a meal.

    Arrive at rope drop. If you want to get the most out of your day, be sure to arrive at a park at opening time. There is a show ("rope drop") that is a fun and energizing way to get everyone excited for the day You will find that you will get a lot more done than people who arrive an hour or so after park opening do because you are staying ahead of the larger wave of visitors.

    These are a few tips. If you write me back (just mention my name in the question) with info on where you are staying, what you like to do, etc., I can offer some more specific advice!

    Have a magical vacation!
