I am coming down in couple weeks and I have been being treated for hip brasitis...I was just curious if there is doctor or chiropractor on site in case I needed either one. I know it is an odd question but I was just researching before I go. :-)

    Hi Cynthia,

Thanks for bringing such a great question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. As the resident Doctor on the panel, I am so proud that you are preparing for the “just in case.” Before you head on your vacation, please make sure to check with your physician to see if there are any precautions you need to take in terms of mobility - we want you to have a fabulous, injury-free vacation!

If you need medical care during your trip, there are several options available to you. First Aid centers are located in all four Theme Parks and are staffed by nurses during regular Park hours. They will dispense over-the-counter medications, bandages, and other quick remedies to get you back into vacation mode.

For more extensive care, AdventHealth Walk-In Urgent Care Centers are open every day of the week, though the hours vary depending on whether it is during the week or on the weekend. They are open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to midnight, and Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Many insurance plans are accepted, and complimentary transportation is available. Also, AdventHealth Celebration is a hospital located approximately 10 minutes by car from the Walt Disney World Resort. They are fully staffed for emergency care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

In case you require a physician at your Resort, concierge medical services are available at all Resort Hotels. Just touch “Front Desk” from your hotel phone, 24 hours a day. Unfortunately a few years ago my twins got very sick on our last day of vacation. We used the in-room medical service, and they were exceptionally caring and competent.

Cynthia, fingers crossed you do not need medical help during your stay. Come back with any other questions!
