    Kirsty Asked

We will be coming to Disney world with our 14month old, staying at allstars. Our buggy/stroller is quite large, even when folded (93x63x39cm). Is this going to be a nightmare getting on busses to&from the parks, or will there be space for it unfolded?

Hi Kirsty! Traveling with infants means you bring at least an extra suitcase along on any vacation. But it is worth it to see how they get excited and react to all the magic that is offered. Walt Disney World is the top destination for magic and children.

By law guests will be required to fold their strollers on all Disney Buses no matter where they are headed. Monorails do not require strollers to be folded as well as the larger boats. But be aware all of the smaller boats that take guests around will also require strollers to be completely folded.

From much past experience traveling with my own children and now my grandchildren it is best to have as compact a stroller as possible. Not only for ease getting on and off transportation but also for getting around the parks. Some access ways are quite narrow and add to that hundreds of guests makes navigating with a large stroller a nightmare. I personally always found a simple umbrella stroller to be ideal since the children are getting in and out of the stroller all the time to go on attractions. Many parents feel they must bring tons of things with them but they never use most of the items. Think carefully what you really will need and remember you can always find things at the Baby Care Centers in the parks and at the shops of the Disney resorts. You can also purchase a Disney umbrella stroller that is quite nice with a top for about $55.

Another option is to rent a more simple stroller for your stay through a local company. You can find Featured Providers listed on their stroller rental page on site. Bringing a large bulky stroller is going to cause some headaches so it is a lot to think about.
