We are coming to Disney World during the week of 5/2-5/9/08. My daughter has asthma and it can become pretty severe in the spring and summer due to allergies. Is there somewhere other than restrooms to take her to give her nebulizer treatments? Thx!

Walt Disney World offers First Aid Stations that are very helpful for guests with asthma. Our son has virally induced asthma so we must travel with a nebulizer as well. These stations can store your nebulizer while you enjoy your time in the parks.

When your daughter needs to use her nebulizer, return to the First Aid Station where you will find private rooms or cubicles in which to relax during her treatment. They are staffed with friendly and professional nurses.

You will find these stations available at the following locations:

Magic Kingdom - to the left of Crystal Palace restaurant
Animal Kingdom - behind the Creature Comforts shop
Epcot - at the Odyssey Center
Hollywood Studios - near Guest Relations
Typhoon Lagoon - near Leaning Palms
Blizzard Beach - near Lottawatta Lodge.

These First Aid Stations are noted on park maps. Cast Members can also point you in the right direction.

There are also Baby Care Centers near each of the First Aid Stations. This would also be a relaxing place for your daughter while she has her treatment. Most of them offer televisions playing Disney movies. You could store her nebulizer at the First Aid Station and if she feels more comfortable in the Care Center then that may be an excellent option. I know my son gets nervous in medical settings so the Baby Care Centers are more relaxing. You can then return your nebulizer to storage and be on your way.

For allergies, you can check the daily news for pollen counts. When staying at a WDW resort, you can also have your daughter’s allergies noted on your room reservation. If needed, ask for an “allergy cleaning” by Housekeeping. They will make sure the room is more thoroughly cleaned of dust.

    Enjoy your May vacation!
