    Desmona from La Asked

Coming to Disney from 8/16-8/19. Unable to get flight of passage or navai river fast passes. Not staying at a Disney hotel. Any suggestions for being able to ride those rides? Please help!

    Hi Desmona ~

Pandora - The World of Avatar
is spectacular! If you are unable to get a FastPass+ for Avatar Flight of Passage or the Na'vi River Journey, you are not alone.

I was at Disney's Animal Kingdom a couple of weeks ago and witnessed the phenomenon of everyone heading to that area of the park. Based on my observations, here is what I would suggest. Get to Animal Kingdom prior to park opening. That way you can get through security and be ready to go as soon as they start letting Guests through the turnstiles.

On the day we were there, Animal Kingdom opened at 9:00 a.m. We arrived at 8:00 a.m. and there was already a line waiting to get into the park. They actually started letting Guests through the turnstiles around 8:30 a.m. (this is not guaranteed). Everyone headed straight to Pandora - The World of Avatar.

If you do not have a FastPass+, get in line for Avatar Flight of Passage First. That line was always much longer than the Na'vi River Journey. As soon as you get off of Avatar Flight of Passage, head to the Na'vi River Journey.

There likely will be a good bit of wait time but the Imagineers did a fantastic job with the stand-by queues. There are so many details that you will want to see and that will help you pass the time while you're waiting. Guests with FastPass+ for these attractions do not get to experience all of the details so I would recommend that everyone go through the stand-by queues during one of their visits. Take something to keep you entertained in line. We loved looking for Hidden Mickeys.

Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison V.
