We are coming to Disney soon and my 5 yr old wears a hearing aid. I'm worried there may be rides or attractions that unexpectedly get us wet, since it will be so hot. Other than water parks, any advice so I know to take his hearing aid off ahead of time?

    Hi Kathleen,

This is a really great question, because Walt Disney World will surprise you sometimes with a sprinkilng of magical drops of water on some rides and attractions. Of course, there are some pretty obvious attractions in which you know you will get wet like Kali River Rapids at Animal Kingdom and all of the attractions at Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon.

I have a pretty good rule of thumb for knowing when you might get wet. If you are putting on 3D Glasses for the ride or attraction( eg: Mickey's PhilharMagic, Toy Story Mania!, Its Tough to be a Bug, Honey I Shrunk the Audience, etc) there is a very good chance that you will get a little wet.  Generally speaking, on these rides or attractions you will be pleasantly surprised with just a generous sprinkling of water. It usually it not enough to douse or soak you. Just enough to make you giggle with the unexpectedness of the effect.  Feel free to ask your Cast Members, who are typically available at the entrance of most  rides and attractions, for advice. One last good rule of thumb if the seats that you are sitting in when you board the ride or attraction are damp or wet, you know what to expect.

It may be a good idea for you to test the ride first, if possible, to ensure that your child gets the maximum entertainment experience. Overall, I believe you will find that the sprinkles of water that you will encounter will be minimum, but only you can determine what amounts are safe for your family. Have a magical vacation!
