Coming to Disney early to mid November 2013 - first time we came to Disney World we stayed off site - after crunching the numbers it is going to be more expensive to stay on site - even if they offer free dining - is it really worth the extra money?

    Hi Catherine,

There is really no way to compare the difference between staying on Disney property and staying off site. It is truly a totally different experience. One of the biggest factors is that you are completely immersed in the Disney magic when staying at WDW. Spending 24/7 surrounded by Disney charm, hospitality, themes, music and atmosphere is worth the extra money in itself. When you add the complimentary transportation from the airport and all around Disney property (which saves a rental car), the Extra-Magic hours (which you can't get when staying off site) and the Free Dining...it makes the decision much easier for you. You mentioned crunching numbers. Can I assume that you have priced out staying in a Value Resort? Are you looking at traveling during the off-season? What about getting Base Tickets versus Park Hoppers? There are other ways to save for sure. I'm a budget traveler too (I have to be with a family of 7). I'd love to help you plan an affordable Disney vacation staying on site. Please send me a follow up question with your dates of travel, number of people in your party and other important information and we will see what we can come up with together.

Hope to hear from you again soon,
