We will be coming to Disney December 27 thru January 2nd. Which days would be the least busy during that time frame?

    Hi Judith,

You are visiting Walt Disney World during a beautiful time of year. The winter holidays see the theme parks decorated gorgeously, and there are many additional events at this time. One of my favorites is the Candlelight Processional, a retelling of the Christmas story by a celebrity narrator accompanied by a large choir.

The week that you are heading to Walt Disney World is one of the most popular weeks of the year. My family has visited during that week, and we have a wonderful time experiencing the theme parks in their winter holiday festivity! However, it is smart to plan for there to be many other guests at the theme parks. I do not think that there will necessarily be a day that will feel substantially less busy during your time frame. It is possible that the January dates may see fewer guests; however, that is still near New Year's Day and many guests will stay as they have vacation from work.

When I am visiting Walt Disney World at a more popular time of year, I make sure to take smart advantage of the Disney FastPass+ system. With this system, you can, ahead of your vacation, select three attractions per day to experience with shortened wait times. I like to make these for the morning. That way, once you have used all three, you can select a fourth, and then a fifth after you have used that, and so on and so forth, based on availability, for the rest of the day. I also like to arrive at the theme parks early, even 30 minutes before opening time. The early morning hours are often the least busy times of day at a theme park. By early afternoon, my family is often ready to head back and enjoy our resort hotel!

I hope that these thoughts are helpful for you, Judith!
