We will be coming to Disney in December. We will be bringing our 14 month old daughter. What are some essential things to bring for my daughter. And is it okay to bring our stroller? Should I buy a better camera to take pictures with?

    Hi Krista,

Thank you for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. I remember going to Walt Disney World with my daughter when she was a toddler. It is so much fun, but definitely requires some careful planning and packing.

To begin with, yes, you may absolutely bring your stroller! I always brought our stroller from home when we visited Walt Disney World because I knew that my daughter would be comfortable in it. It is best to bring one that will fold up for easy transport on buses, monorails, and boats. As to a camera, I think that is really up to you. My family has always been happy with the photos that we take on our mobile phones; however, we are not photography buffs. I have a friend who was displeased with the quality of the photos from her mobile device, so she bought a very nice camera. I can absolutely see the difference - her camera produces beautiful photos - but for my family, we are happy enough with the quality we get from our mobile devices.

As to what else to pack, of course you will want all of the diaper bag essentials, such as diapers, wipes, and so on. I also always brought some of my daughter's favorite small toys in our theme park bag. If she got fussy in her stroller, these would help. I also always brought some of her favorite snacks and drinks with us. This way, you know you have something to take the edge of if she gets cranky due to being hungry! As to clothing, pack as you would for yourself, with layers for chilly nights, and also possibly a hat to help with the sun.

Do take advantage of the Baby Care Centers while you are in the theme parks. These wonderful, calming spaces offer places to feed baby, great diaper changing areas, and just a nice place to take a break with a little one.

I hope that these thoughts are helpful for you, Krista. Please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions!
