We are coming to disney to celebrate my twin daughters 16th birthday! They are so excited. I see a lot of ways to celebrate birthdays for the younger children, any ideas for teens? (And they are both vegan's so ideas on restaurants would be awesome too!)

  • Hello, Gail!

I'm so happy you have selected the Walt Disney World Resort for your daughters' sweet 16 celebration. In my opinion, there's no better way to celebrate than by visiting with Mickey and pals!

There are many ways to celebrate your teens at the Walt Disney World Resort. Start with something simple, like putting your girls in charge of planning the day's activities and FastPass+ attractions, and then add in several small surprises - like grabbing soft pretzels or popcorn (both vegan) and watching the parade roar by, or getting pampered at a Disney spa.

Another fun idea is to get your girls involved in making a keepsake piece of jewelry from the "Pick-A-Pearl" location at the Mitsukoshi Department Store (located in Epcot's Japan Pavilion). The girls can choose from a number of settings in which to display their new pearls, and the memory of making this piece of jewelry with family will make it even more special.

Dining with a special diet at Walt Disney World is easier than ever with the addition of new allergy-friendly menus. I usually have no trouble finding vegan-friendly foods for my daughter, as there are fruits, salads and Smuckers Uncrustables sandwiches offered all over the parks.

You will have the best luck finding delicious and nutritious vegan options at one of the many Table-Service restaurants, as chefs are often on-hand to whip up amazing dishes while you wait. Make sure to let your waiter know of any special dietary requests that your family has when you arrive, and if you make any advance dining reservations, be sure to note that your daughters are vegan there, too.

Please let us know if there is anything else we can help you with as you plan your daughters' birthday celebration. I hope you and your family make many magical memories at Walt Disney World, Gail!
