    Jaime from MA Asked

I am coming at Christmas time and trying to decide what two parks to visit with a four year old boy. He loves trains and not a fan of big scary rides.

    Hi Jaime!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! My three-year-old is the exact same. In fact we count the various modes of Disney Resort Transportation like Buses, the Monorail, and even parking lot tram as rides in our family! Disney's Theme Parks actually came to be thanks to Walt's life-long love of trains. Maybe our boys will grow up to become Imagineers, dreaming up future attractions for Walt Disney World Resort.

You'll for sure want to spend one of your Disney Days in Magic Kingdom Park where you'll find the Walt Disney World Railroad. This 1.5 mile circular journey takes about 20 minutes round-trip, or you can exit at one of the stops to explore that side of the park. While that's the only train right now, other Magic Kingdom Park transportation style attractions that your son might enjoy are the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover (like a train of the future!), Tomorrowland Speedway, Main Street Vehicles (do note that these only run for a few hours after the park opening) and the world's happiest boat ride of "it's a small world."

As for a second park option, my son loves the slow moving and interactive ride vehicle of Spaceship Earth, as well as the slow moving boat rides of Living with the Land and the Grand Fiesta Tour all in Epcot. But, if your son also likes animals, you cannot go wrong with Kilimanjaro Safaris in Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. (Na'vi River Journey is also a wonderful slow boat ride that mine enjoys.)

Bonus Tip: There's a kiddie train in the Marketplace at Disney Springs.

We'll See You Real Soon, Jaime!
