I have coins for the penny press machine in m&m tubes. Should I carry these on the plane or put them in my checked luggage?

Hi Michelle! It's so exciting to know your Walt Disney World Resort vacation is just one short week away! Yay!

The Coin Press Machines are so fun and provide a great (and economical) way to come home with wonderful Disney Parks souvenirs!

Speaking from experience, while you can travel with the coins in your carry-on bags, I would suggest you check them. On one of our vacations, we did exactly as you are planning and had a tube of coins in one of our carry-on bags. The tube was flagged going through security and the TSA Agent had to look through our bag to ensure everything was fine. We were able to take the tube and coins on the plane but it took a few moments to get through security as the TSA Agent couldn't pinpoint what the x-ray machine flagged. When it finally clicked with us, we suggested the TSA Agent open the candy tube. He did. We all laughed, he told us to have a magical time and then we were on our way with our tube of coins in our bag.

Your tube may or may not get flagged when you go through security but if possible, you may want to check your coin tube so you don't have any delays.

Thanks so much for your question and please let me know if you need any other tips or advice as you plan your magical Walt Disney World Resort vacation!

Have a great time transforming your coins into magical mementos of your time at Walt Disney World Resort!
