Clarifying ME:We will be arriving at 10 am at MCO and as I understand it's ok to collect my own luggage? We want to go to HS that night so we want to save time but don't want to be the only one with our own bags.Others do this right? Will this save time?

You can collect your own bags from the luggage carousel at the Orlando airport. You will not be the only one doing this. And even if you were, why would it matter? It's a perfectly legitimate thing to do, and if it works best for you, why not do it? If you do decide that you want to get your bags yourself, remember to NOT put the yellow Magical Express tags on your bags. If the baggage handlers see the yellow tags, your bags will be pulled for transport behind the scenes and will never make it out to the carousel.

As for the saving time issue ... let me see if I can clarify. If you want Magical Express to deliver your bags to your hotel, you will but the yellow tags on your bags. They will then be delivered to your hotel room in about three hours. (I have heard reports of it taking as few as two and as many as six hours to get your bags.) While your bags are doing their own thing, you will go straight to the Magical Express check-in desk and then take the bus to your hotel. You'll probably be at the hotel in an hour to an hour and a half -- well ahead of the bags.

I generally suggest that people with late night flights get their own bags at the airport. This is because I don't want to be woken in the middle of the night when the bags arrive. However, with a daytime flight, I see no problem with having ME take care of the bags for you. Due to your early arrival, you probably won't be able to get into your room upon registration anyway.

So, if I were you, I would let ME take the bags. You take the bus to your hotel. Get there and pre-register. You will be given your park passes and dining plan credits if you have purchased them. Bell services can store your carry-on luggage in a secure location. Then you can go off and tour the parks. When you get back to your hotel, your bags will be there waiting for you.

    Have a great trip!
