Do children under three need a magic band or ticket?

    Hi Sherry!

It sounds like you are planning your next Walt Disney World Resort vacation and this time, you will be bringing a little one with you! The Walt Disney World Resort theme parks, Disney Resort hotels and Disney Springs are magical for all Guests, but there's something extra special about enjoying the Disney magic with a little prince or princess. Be sure to consider adding Memory Maker to your trip so you can capture and save the incredible memories you will make during your vacation!

Guests who are under 3 years old are considered special Guests of Mickey Mouse and receive complimentary theme park admission. So you do not need to purchase a theme park ticket for your little one if they are 2 years old or under. All Disney Resort hotel Guests receive complimentary solid color MagicBands, even the littlest Mousketeers. So if you are staying at a Disney Resort hotel, then your little one will receive a complimentary MagicBand. However, since your little one doesn't need a ticket, your little one doesn't have to wear his or her MagicBand and if you are not staying at a Disney Resort hotel, then you don't have to purchase a MagicBand for your little one unless you choose to.

Since you are traveling with a little one, be sure to take advantage of the FastPass+ System so you can make the most of your time in the theme parks and minimize your time waiting in attraction queues. As the mom of two little guys, I can tell you from our experience that the FastPass+ System can make a theme park day so much easier! Also, don't forget that you can take advantage of Rider Switch to enjoy attractions that your little one isn't quite tall enough for.
