My children and I are planning a trip to Disney later this year. Their grandmother lives in Orlando. She said she can get them tickets under her Florida residency but how can I get those and the dining plan? She said my husband and I would have to buy ours

Hi there, Victor! Thank you so much for reaching out to me with this great question! I'm sure we can start getting those plans in place to make your family's Disney dreams come true!

There's a lot to think about when planning a Walt Disney World Resort vacation, isn't there? Where to stay, what to eat, what to do, and of course, getting those tickets squared away. And, bonus - your family gets to see Grandma, too! It sounds like you have a wonderful family trip in store.

Here's the lowdown on Florida Resident tickets: an adult buying Florida resident tickets for children must provide proof of Florida residency at a Guest Relations location at the Theme Parks or at Disney Springs in order to activate the tickets. Once you've done that, you're good to go for the rest of your trip!

As for dining plans, they are typically available as part of a Disney vacation package. Since you'll also be buying tickets, I believe you should be able to add a dining plan to your Resort hotel reservation. You'll want to call Guest Relations directly and speak to one of the friendly Cast Members to book your vacation package and make sure everyone in your family is able to be added to the dining plan.

And Victor, Guests staying in a Walt Disney World Resort hotel can make FastPass+ selections 60 days in advance, so mark your calendar! Of course, if you have any questions about that, please stop back by the Disney Parks Moms Panel. We're always here to help!

I hope this helps you plan a magical vacation with your family, Victor. See ya real soon!

Meet the Panelist: Kathy, Florida

I've lived my whole life just an hour's drive from Walt Disney World, so I've been a regular visitor for as long as I can remember. Even after all these years and so many visits, I love that there's still so much to discover! Now that I'm a mom myself, seeing my favorite place through my son's eyes has given me a whole new perspective that I enjoy sharing with other parents of young children. Learn More About Kathy
