Our children (ages 13g, 10g, 6b) are receiving Disney gift cards from Santa for our January trip. Can they be linked to the kids' magic bands to avoid carrying the cards in the parks? Thanks for your help.

    Hi, Lori!

    Good thinking!

The fewer things we carry with us when we travel to Walt Disney World, the better...especially when money or gift cards are concerned. That's one of the beautiful benefits of a MagicBand: WDW Guests who are eligible for MagicBands will be able to have lots of those little items which used to fill up pockets now available through a touch of the wrist. I just love that idea!

Keep in mind that MagicBands are currently designed to access many things on your Walt Disney World Resort Account, this includes the ability to charge to your room. On a recent stay with twelve family members, we simply charged items to our room, having set up charging capabilities at the resort, and, from time to time, I headed to the front desk to apply Gift Cards our own family members had brought with them to reimburse me for charges to our room. (Several family members wanted to pay for their own purchases using cash or gift cards, so it was easy for us to clear those charges from our balance whenever we wanted to do so.) Items such as cash, credit cards and Disney Gift Cards were stored securely in our room safe, so there was no worry about losing them either.

    Hope that helps, Lori!

Have a fantastic family trip to Walt Disney World next month; that's right around the corner! Woo hoo!

Send more questions as you think of them, too. We love to help!
