Can my child that is 35 in tall ride the Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance next to me or my lap? And I have the same question for the Millennium Falcon ride, can my 35 in tall kid ride it with me? Thanks.

Bright Suns, Deborah, and thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

I’m so glad you’re taking the time to prepare for your galactic adventures. This way, you’ll know what to expect when you arrive in Batuu. Since your child is 35” tall, unfortunately, they won’t be able to ride either of these attractions. Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance has a minimum height requirement of 40”, and Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run has a minimum height requirement of 38”. However, if you’re traveling with another adult or Guest age 14 or over, you may want to check out Rider Switch, which allows adult Guests to take turns waiting with youngsters or Guests unable to ride. As a mom of three children ages 8 and under, I’ve used Rider Switch many times, and am so thankful for this option!

Your child will still love checking out Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, thanks to the awesome Character interactions, unique merchandise options, and yummy treats. Be sure to look out for Chewbacca and Rey, who can often be found near Rise of the Resistance. If your little one prefers the Dark Side, look out for Stormtroopers and Kylo Ren closer to Oga’s Cantina. Be sure to test out Blue and Green Milk with your youngling, too!

I’m happy to report that there are still plenty of family-friendly attractions you can ride with your child at the Disneyland Resort. To check them out, head to the Attractions page, then filter by “Height” by selecting “35 inches or taller.” Currently, there are 70 attractions that are suitable for your child’s height within both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park. Some of my children’s favorite attractions in Disneyland Park include Astro Orbitor, Autopia, Casey Jr. Circus Train, Disneyland Railroad, Dumbo the Flying Elephant, and “it’s a small world.” In Disney California Adventure Park, they love Golden Zephyr, Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind, Jessie’s Critter Carousel, The Little Mermaid ~ Ariel's Undersea Adventure, Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree, Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue!, and Turtle Talk with Crush.

Also, be sure to check out the handy Baby Care Centers – there’s one in each theme park. These Centers are the ideal spot to change or feed your little one, and even purchase any necessities you may have forgotten.

May the Force be with you, Deborah!
