We are checking in June 12, 2016 to Art of Animation. We can't check in until 3pm, but I have dining reservations for lunch at Be Our Guest. Will we be able to use our park passes and dining reservations prior to the 3pm check in time? Thanks so muc

    Hi Jackie!

I'm so excited to hear that you'll be visiting Walt Disney World this summer!  I'm sure you're going to have a magical time.

I'm in this same situation almost every time I visit.  I like taking the earliest morning flight from my hometown, so I'm usually in Orlando by 9:00 a.m.  That means I have almost a full day ahead of me to enjoy the parks.  I'm happy to pass on that you can head straight to your Disney Resort hotel and check in anytime on your arrival day, even if it's before 3:00 p.m.  With a little pixie dust, your room will be ready for you then, but if not, you can always leave your luggage with Bell Services and head out for your dining reservations or to enjoy the parks.  If you leave your mobile number, you'll receive a text with details when your room is ready.

If you're wondering if it's necessary to check in to the hotel before using your park tickets or dining reservations, the answer is "maybe."  If you have a Magic Your Way Vacation Package that includes your park tickets and/or the Disney Dining Plan, those are both activated at the front desk at the time of check-in, so the answer would be yes.

If you have a room-only reservation, with your park tickets purchased separately, then you can start using those anytime and you wouldn't have to stop by the hotel first.  It's also not necessary to check in before arriving for any dining reservations you've made (unless you're using the Disney Dining Plan to pay for that meal).

I hope that helps with your planning, Jackie!  Have a wonderful vacation!
