We are checking in at Art of Anim. next Friday and did the package of course where everything is paid for before we get there other than parking. During check in will they want to or have to put a credit/debit card on file and will they put a hold on it ?

    Hi Blair!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. YOU'RE GOING TO WALT DISNEY WORLD RESORT this week!!!! You must be getting so excited. Don't forget to check out the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival!

Yes, guests of Disney's Resort Hotels are required to leave a credit or debit card on file for any incidental charges as well as making purchases to their MagicBands. You can add your card information when checking-in in person, or now using Online Check-in. Currently the hold amount, which starts on your check-in day, is $1,500, and covers everyone in your guest room. However, if a group of friends or odd family members are staying in the same room, each adult can link their own card for just their charges, but the hold amount is the same for each person.

The charges you do make to your MagicBand will only officially hit your bank account once the total amount spent reaches the hold amount, or upon check-out, whichever comes first. Should you spend up to or over the hold amount, the charges will go through and a new hold of $1,500 will be issued auto-magically. Pro Tip: You can pay off the amount charged to your MagicBand before it officially hits your credit or debit card with cash or Disney Gifts Cards at your resort hotel's front desk. I usually do this on our Disney vacations; I'll stop by the front desk every few days, but the balance can be paid off all at once the night before you check-out, or you can stop by everyday if you'd like.

We'll See You Real Soon, Blair!
