Check in at Disney's Animal Kingdom Resort

Hi! We checked in online for our hotel and I've been told that we can head directly to the parks (including for extra magic hours) without first stopping at the hotel. Wanted to make sure that was correct? Thanks! Apryl

Thank you for returning to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Apryl! And the answer is yes!! You CAN head straight to the Parks as long as you have done a few things first.

Make sure you don’t pack your MagicBands in your checked luggage, since they will not only hold your park ticket and FP+ reservations but also your Disney Resort Hotel reservation number so that you may access Extra Magic Hours and such. If you’ve completed Online Resort Check-In, you’re set to go. You will be texted or emailed when your room is ready, complete with room number and building so you can return from the parks and head straight to your room. Your luggage that you tagged with the yellow Magical Express tags will arrive in your room via the bell staff a few hours after you land, so be sure to tag your bags BEFORE you leave for the airport in your hometown. This is an important step in being able to head to the parks (otherwise you’ll have to stop by the luggage claim and bring your bags to your hotel before you go play!). You’ll also want to make sure anything you carry on to the plane is something you’ll want to carry through the parks, like a backpack or a cross body purse. My vacation always starts as soon as I see the Disney’s Magical Express signs, so I know you’ll be just as eager to hop aboard and transfer buses at your Resort to get to the parks.

If I can help add more magic and fast fun to your upcoming vacation, please let me know. You’ve got a friend in me! ~ Lindsey P.
