What is the cheapest way for a family of five to take a disney cruise? Do we have to have a verandah?

    Hi, Amy!

I hear ya! We're a family of six  and sometimes feel like somewhat of an oddity when it comes to vacation planning. Yet, as the leader in family cruises, Disney understands that not every family has only one or two children. (Some of us are outnumbered, right?!)

For any family with more than four, your total cruise fare is going to depend on a lot of variables including your stateroom category (inside, outside, verandah, etc.), the ages of your children, your ports of call, the time of year, how far in advance you book and the length of your cruise. Therefore, my advice in order to be most efficient with your vacation dollars is to book with a knowledgeable and reputable Disney travel agent.  You can find them online, or you may have an expert where you live. They are going to have the most up-to-date information on deals and discounts and know availability for when and where you would like to cruise.

Depending on the ages (and sizes) of your children, there are staterooms which can accommodate five people, or you can book two inside or outside/porthole staterooms. A good travel agent can price all of that out separately for you and show you the differences. For me, I would rather put everyone in one room in order to have a verandah if that is an option. I hope this helps point you in the right direction.

Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation. Bon voyage!
