How many character dining experiences would you reccomend in a 1 week trip?

    Julia:

My max for any table service restaurant, whether it's a character meal or not, is one a day.  Generally, it takes our family about 1 1/2 hours to dine at a table service restaurant, a little shorter for a buffet.  And for us, that means time out of the parks not to mention full tummies.

As our children are getting older, we find we are doing fewer Character Meals for nostalgia, but even when they were younger, we chose one with Mickey and the Gang and one with another character like the princesses or Pooh at Crystal Palace.  We wanted distinct memorable experiences.  There are so many other dining choices that include entertainment like the German Oktoberfest at Biergarten, the chefs at Teppan Edo, the coconut races at Ohana or the shenanigans of the wait staff at Whispering Canyon, that we had much from which to choose. Too much, and the ones at the end of the vacation seem anti-climatic.

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
