Hi! Which Character Dining is best for my family? I will be at WDW in Dec 2015 with two teenage boys (13&16). This is our 4th trip to WDW but 1st time with CD. We are looking for fun, cool, but not too childish (loud) and no princesses. Thanks!

Hi, Madeline! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. As a 'boy mom' myself, let me assure you - I completely understand. My princes are a bit younger than yours, but if your boys are anything like mine - I know exactly what they are looking for. They want to have fun, but not feel as if they are acting like 'babies'. Also, forcing them to talk to any princess is absolute torture. I mean, YUCK! They are girls!

During our last visit to The Walt Disney World Resort, we dined with the 'Fab Five' during breakfast at Chef Mickey's inside Disney's Contemporary Resort. Characters that may stop by are Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Pluto, Donald Duck, and Goofy. All five were in attendance for our meal! The boys loved watching the characters dance around and even joined them in twirling their napkins around in the air. The food was quite delicious also. I am normally not a big breakfast buffet fan, but there was quite a variety of foods to choose from. The boys were happy and my husband and I were happy - so I call that a big win in my book!

Another option for you would be to dine with two mischievous chipmunks! At The Garden Grill located in Epcot, Chip and Dale will certainly entertain your young men. Those two always crack me up! Some of their friends my pop in, also! Your meal here is served family-style and the dishes celebrate the harvest. A unique feature of this restaurant is some of the vegetables served are grown right at Epcot in the Living with the Land greenhouses! I would recommend experiencing Living with the Land just before your dinner to learn more about the innovative ways some of the food has been grown.

Someday, I would love to experience a princess breakfast - but I may have to wait for granddaughters!

    Have a tasty vacation, Madeline!

Hi, I’m Rachel! I am a “boy mom” to two rowdy little men at home and married to my high school sweetheart. I am fortunate enough that my prince charming loves all things Disney just as much as I do! For me, planning a trip to Walt Disney World can be just as magical as being there. It brings our family together as we dream, plan, and count down the days. I would be honored to help plan your visit and share in your family’s very own magic! Learn More About Rachel
