So much has changed since our last trip 2 yrs ago. Coming in 2015. Assuming the magic bands will be in full force. Will it be used for dining plan too? How does fastpass+ work? If you stay on site do you get to reserve fast passes in advance?

    Hi Carla,

Assuming FastPass+ is fully rolled out by 2015 (it is still in testing phase), yes, your Disney Dining Plan will be linked to your MagicBand. On a recent trip, I was able to pay for all purchases, including my dining by scanning my MagicBand.

Currently, guests staying at Disney Resort Hotels are able to reserve FastPass+ selections up to 60 days in advance. This could change as the technology is fine tuned, but it's a great incentive to staying at a Disney Resort Hotel! You'll likely have up to 3 choices per day, experiencing little to no wait time at your selected attractions. It's really a modernized version of the paper FastPasses we receive in the Parks, except digital and very planned (selecting rides two months in advance!)

I loved pre-arranging my FastPass+ from home. I could even modify the selection from my smartphone while I toured the Parks. If I happened to be running late, I checked my My Disney Experience account to see if other FastPass+ options were available at later times. I found the process to be seamless. I also loved selecting "headliner" attractions like Toy Story Mania for the evening hours. It sure beat running to the attraction at rope drop. We enjoyed a leisurely breakfast knowing our family could ride Toy Story Mania in the evening.

Any other questions, Carla? Let us know how we can help!
