We will be celebrating my daughters birthday and my son's half birthday while there in March! Both dates actually do fall the week we are there! I have heard about free desserts for birthdays. Is this true and is it limited to certain restaurants?

Hi, Jodi, and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Your family has a lot to celebrate on your upcoming visit to the Walt Disney World Resort - let's get planning!

Birthdays, half-birthdays, even un-birthdays are a big deal at Walt Disney World! My first piece of advice is to pick up a couple of celebration buttons for your little ones. They're absolutely free, and you can find them at the front desk of your Resort hotel, at Guest Relations locations at the Theme Parks and Disney Springs, or at most retail shops around Walt Disney World. Cast Members will personalize them for you, and your birthday kids will love all the "Happy Birthdays" coming their way when they wear their buttons around the Parks.

If you haven't already, go ahead and call Guest Relations to note your celebration on your Resort hotel reservation and any dining reservations you may have. Disney can't promise anything specific like a free dessert, but you never know when a little pixie dust may fall at Walt Disney World!

Jodi, imagine how much fun it would be for your Mousketeers to find a special surprise in your room! Check out some of the extras you can order from Disney Floral & Gifts or Disney's cake delivery service to add even more magic to your celebration.

I hope this helps you and your family have a birthday celebration to remember at Walt Disney World, Jodi. Please come visit us again if you have any more questions!

Meet the Panelist: Kathy, Florida

I've lived my whole life just an hour's drive from Walt Disney World, so I've been a regular visitor for as long as I can remember. Even after all these years and so many visits, I love that there's still so much to discover! Now that I'm a mom myself, seeing my favorite place through my son's eyes has given me a whole new perspective that I enjoy sharing with other parents of young children. Learn More About Kathy
