    Kellie Asked

I am celebrating my daughters 3rd birthday inAug. I am going to make a character dining resv soon. Just wondering what is the best one to go to? She likes princesses and she would also enjoy seeing Mickey and Minnie. I am more into the breafast ones.

    Hi, Kellie!

Happy (early) birthday to your daughter!

I'll throw out two options for you.

For the Mickey Mouse experience, I can't say enough good things about Chef Mickey's, especially for breakfast. Here, you'll meet Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, and Pluto, all in kitchen attire. and because it is located in Disney's Contemporary Resort, you do not need a Park ticket to dine there. That could conceivably be done, then, on a day you weren't planning on hitting one of the Parks; make a late breakfast reservation and spend the rest of the day relaxing at the pool, exploring Downtown Disney, etc.

Princesses galore are found in the Princess Storybook Dining at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall, located in Epcot's Norway pavilion. You should find Ariel, Belle, Cinderella, Snow White, and Aurora, with all characters subject to change (I have heard of Mulan sightings, for example!). This, like Chef Mickey's, is a buffet. However, you will need a Park ticket to access the restaurant. I'd recommend an early reservation, allowing you maximum time to explore the Park thereafter.

Cinderella's Royal Table is a beautiful experience, but I think she'd get more Princess fun out of Akershus, if she wants to interact with more than just the characters from Cinderella.

The food in either case is excellent, traditional American fare; Akershus does offer some regional specialties to tempt the palate as well.

I'd love to hear from you; let me know what you decide, and how your experience was!

    See you later, celebrator,
    -Deborah B.
