With the CD @ DL do you have to pay the full price of $33/40 to be able to meet the characters? I am getting the dining plan but wonder if it is worth the $ since my daughter is a light eater. Can you still get CD by getting something smaller for less $?

    Hi Brenda,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thanks for your question! Most of the Character Dining experiences at the Disneyland Resort feature an all-you-care-to-enjoy buffet breakfast or brunch, with the exception of Ariel’s Grotto, which offers a three-course, fixed-price lunch. The cost of the Disney Dining vouchers ($33 for breakfast and $40 for lunch per adult/junior) is an accurate representation of how much Character Dining would cost without the Dining Plan, as well. Since there is a set price to enjoy all of these special meals with characters, it’s not possible to order a less expensive menu item. Although it's a bit more pricey than traditional dining, it can be worth the extra money because you're guaranteed one-on-one time with the most sought-after characters in a fun, themed environment.

If you do decide to skip Character Dining in favor of a choice that better suits your daughter’s light appetite, there are still opportunities to catch favorite characters in the parks, particularly the princesses, who can be found at the Royal Hall at Disneyland Park’s Fantasy Faire. Guests need only wait in line once to meet Disney friends from films such as The Little Mermaid, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Tangled and Beauty and the Beast!

I hope this helps, Brenda. Please feel free to write back to me with any other questions you may have as you continue to plan your pixie-dusted vacation!

    Wishing you magic,
