Hi Cathy Im busy making res for Dec 8th. Curious about what to expect if we can get reservations for the dessert party? Is it worth the time/expense? Ive heard mixed reviews. Any other Musts I should do? took your advise and have res for Candlelight p

    Hi, Patricia!

I am so glad to hear from you. I was thinking about you the other day, hoping your plans for your kid-free weekend are going well.  You and your husband must be getting excited!

Honestly, I have never done the dessert party at the Magic Kingdom.   My main reason is that when I'm on the dining plan and have had dessert with every meal, I just do not want to spend the extra money on more desserts.   That said, sweets lovers will probably be over the moon with the huge dessert selection, so really is up to you how you like to indulge!  (Personally, give me a Mickey Ice Cream bar for a few bucks and I'm happy!)

I am glad you were able to get a dinner package reservation for the Candlelight Processional.  I think this will be a very special evening for you and your husband.

Other things to do that I think you will enjoy that you might not have planned:
-Go to Downtown Disney.  Head toward the West Side.  Often, there are performers that we enjoy, but our kids drag us right past to the Lego Store.  While it's just the 2 of you, take time to enjoy the entertainment!
-Head to the Polynesian and find a quiet place on the beach to watch fireworks.  Walk toward the Grand Floridian on the path and you will find a nice stretch of beach that is usually quite empty!  So nice!
-This might sound silly, but go meet some Disney Pals!  When was the last time you had a picture taken with just you and your hubby?  Mickey and his friends would love to pose for some pictures with you.

I hope this helps.  Keep your agendas going, organize your dining reservations, and let me know where you need help to make your vacation perfectly magical!
