How many cash dollars would you recommend we have on hand? We will only be there for 3 days, family of 4. And is there a list of activities that only take cash. For example, we want to rent a canopy bike. Thanks! ~Tiffanie

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Tiffanie! I’ve been visiting Walt Disney World Resort since I was seven years old, and never so often as in the last ten years. In all that time, I’ve found cash to nearly be a thing of the past.

Every location owned and operated by Walt Disney World Resort (Theme Parks, Resorts, attractions, entertainment options, etc) all accept credit cards, debit and especially MagicBands. I haven’t needed cash except when I would like to tip my Disney’s Magical Express Driver, Housekeeping or perhaps a tour guide. Everything else goes on my MagicBand or my Disney VISA by Chase. Oftentimes, the only cash I bring with me is my pennies to press in the coin machines! My family collects pressed pennies from the parks in a slim little book. Even retailers at Disney Springs that are not owned and operated by Disney accept “plastic” and in most cases MagicBands. It allows you to leave worry behind and keep track of your folio charges in the mobile My Disney Experience App. And yes, the Surrey bikes at the Boardwalk as well as Pop Century Resort accept these forms of payment for a rental. If you wanted to bring cash with you, a dollar or two for each tip opportunity would be plenty.

I hope you have a magical family vacation to Walt Disney World Resort, and if I can be of further help, please return to the panel to ask another question. You’ve got a friend in me! ~ Lindsey P.
