Capacity Closures during Dec 26-31? The 26th we plan to go to the MK and leave mid day for Chef Mickeys and then return to MK. The 29th we will go to Epoct I planned a break mid-day but have dinner/process reserv. How does this work? Boardwalk Resort

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Lori! The holiday are certainly a magical time of year to visit Walt Disney World Resort, but it can also get very busy, as you may be planning for.

If perchance, a park does have closures, you will not be able to enter, even if you have been there previously that day or have dining reservations that you have not yet attended. Fellow panelist Jan answered this beautifully for another guest, and mentioned that it does have a lot to do with the Fire Marshal’s code. If you are very concerned about returning to or entering a park that day, my recommendation would be to arrive as early as possible to start your fun. If you are worried about your Magic Kingdom park day, you can cancel most dining reservations 24 hours in advance with no penalty.

All that being said, if you have Candlelight Processional dinner reservations, you will not be barred from reentering the park on your way back from dinner at Trattoria al Forno (the only included restaurant outside of Epcot). Disney doesn't want to keep you from a special event that you have paid for! The parks can get very full once Christmas Day is upon us all the way until the New Year’s Eve Fireworks blast off in splendor, but this is one exception that can be made. Simply write down your dining event confirmation number or have it handy on your MagicBand and show it at the International Gateway (the back entrance to Epcot).

When you are visiting, be sure to enjoy the snow on Main Street during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, as well as the gingerbread treats from Main Street Bakery. If you have more questions about your upcoming seasonal vacation, please let me know. TTFN, Ta Ta For Now! ~ Lindsey P.
