Can't wait for our trip. Read the panel everyday!! I keep seeing you write about The Rope Drop. What is it exactly?? Is there a time that you should be there?? Thanks!!

    Hi Jennifer,

I understand how exciting it is to count those days until your Disney World vacation. Thanks for "checking in" with us Moms daily. I hope you are finding some great tips and advice here.

Rope Drop is simply the time the park opens. Each park has a designated opening time but typically guests are allowed past the turnstiles and into the front of the park around 15-20 minutes before opening. This helps control the crowds and gives guests a chance to get their park maps, rent their strollers and plan their attack. If you enter the turnstiles early, you will only be allowed up to a certain point, or "rope". For example, at Magic Kingdom, that rope may be at the end of Main Street. At "rope drop" the rope is removed and guests are allowed to advance into the park and enjoy the attractions and shows.

    Hope this helps!
