I can't find previous Q&A about this, so I'm re-asking a similar ?. Our DSs are doing the pirate adventure from GF and I'm thinking about making an ADR @ CP at 8:00 a.m. Will we have enough time to get them to GF or are we cutting it too close? Thanks

If you're willing to eat quickly, then you're probably OK. First thing in the morning, the Crystal Palace is good about seating people at their reservation time. A typical character meal takes an hour; the characters are often timed so that they take about an hour to make a loop around the restaurant. However, there are a few things you can do to shave a bit of time off your dining.

    - Send the kids and one grown-up to the buffet as soon as you have your table. Leave the other adult to give the server the drink orders for the whole group. This gets the kids eating sooner.

    - Ask for the check at the beginning of your meal. The buffet is a set price, so your server can compute your bill really as soon as you walk in. This eliminates a wait for the check at the end.

    - Be willing to miss one of the characters. Or, you could speak with one of the character handlers (usually wearing a yellow vest and a headset) about your situation and they may be able to send a lagging character over to your table if that's what's delaying you.

If you follow these steps, you could easily be done eating by 8:45. Then you're going to walk with purpose to the park exit and the monorail station. (Though it looks like you should be a able to walk directly to the Grand Floridian, there's no way to do so.) The monorails should be running frequently early in the day, so you shouldn't have to wait more than about 10 minutes for one to arrive. This would put you at about 9:00 or 9:05 at the latest. Then the monorail ride itself will take about 10 minutes, putting you at 9:15.

9;15 is the stated check-in time for the Pirate Cruise that is scheduled to depart at 9:30. I would have the fastest walking adult in your group move ahead to the boat dock to start the check-in.

So, it isn't pretty, but it is do-able. If you have very slow eaters or walkers in your group, then you might want to reconsider, but otherwise, go ahead and book your meal.
