Cabin on hold, concern is 9011-9009 cabins. Are they really big enough for 2 adults and 2 children each. The add says up to 3+. Kids are 11 and 9. Feels kinda toooo tight. Advice, please. Fantasy in Oct. 2015 but looking to book now. Magic porthole?

    Hi, Libby!
I'm happy to hear you're planning a Disney Cruise Line vacation. With the addition of the Halloween on the High Seas cruises, October has become a popular month to sail with Disney! Not only will you experience the magic of sailing with Captain Mickey, you'll have holiday enhancements and entertainment to enjoy as well.

I've done some research on the cabins you mention - 9009 and 9011, Category 11A Standard Inside Staterooms. A "standard" stateroom on a Disney ship is not the same as a "standard" room on other cruise lines. Disney staterooms were designed with families in mind, and are roomy, functional and elegant!

These staterooms can comfortably sleep up to four guests, with a Queen bed, single sleeper sofa and a pull-down bunk. (They have a standard bath, not a split bath, so if that's something you're looking for you might want to consider making a change.) You'll have plenty of room to store luggage under your bed, and a roomy closet. For some added Disney magic, these staterooms feature a Magical Porthole, providing guests with real-time views of what's happening outside the ship. Keep an eye on the screen - you never know when a Disney Character might magically appear!

I can tell you from experience that when we cruise with Disney we really don't spend much time in our stateroom! With all to see and do on a DCL vacation, we're only in the room to sleep and shower! If you're concerned these rooms may be a tight fit for your family, I encourage you to visit the official DCL website, where you can browse and select staterooms and see a side-by-side comparison of up to three selections at a time. It's a great tool to decide which room is right for you!

No matter which room you choose, you're in for a magical vacation when you sail with Disney! I hope this helps with your decision! - Diane W.
