Mom and Child wearing Magic Bands

Before buying new bands, how can I test if my magic bands still have battery power? They were purchased about 1 and half years ago and we will be in Disney this September.

Hi, Marcella! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

Thank you for bringing us this great question! Unfortunately, there is no way of testing the battery power of a MagicBand until you actually try to use it within Walt Disney World Resort. If you are staying at a Disney Resort hotel, you will be given a new, complimentary MagicBand, but based on your question you will be using alternative accommodations and would, therefore, need to purchase one- I hope I am properly understanding your question. If this is the case, then you could always go to the small boutique outside of the first Disney Theme Park that you visit before attempting the turnstiles and test out the MagicBand there with a small purchase, or even just ask the Cast Member if you can test it. If it doesn’t work, then they usually have a small selection for purchase there. I have read that battery life in the MagicBand usually lasts up to 2 years, but that is really a maximum and Disney reports that after a yEAR, it is best to replace them.

I hope this answers your question and that you visit us again real soon!
