    Janet from IL Asked

Can I buy the Maxpass on day 2 of a 3 day pass and only pay for2 days? Will install charge me 3 days?

    Hey there, Janet!

I’m thrilled with the opportunity to help out with preparations for your upcoming Disneyland Resort vacation. Since the introduction of Disney MaxPass, our family has learned that we would not want to enjoy the Disneyland Resort without it ever again! We love how it allows us to get Disney FASTPASS reservations more conveniently and more frequently. And the included downloads of our Disney PhotoPass photos is a great way to make and keep those happy vacation memories.

Still, I can imagine some scenarios where you may not want to purchase MaxPass for all of the days you visit the Disneyland Resort. If you happen to arrive later in the day on your first day in the parks, the value may be diminished if the available set of FASTPASSES has been depleted. If PhotoPass photos are not your priority for that day, then it may not be as useful to purchase MaxPass at that time.

There are two ways to purchase Disney MaxPass. The first way is to include MaxPass with your initial theme park ticket purchase. When you include MaxPass at the time of your ticket purchase, MaxPass may only be added for the same number of days as your tickets. The other way to purchase Disney MaxPass is one day at a time after you have entered either Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure Park on a given day. This is done quickly and easily from within the Disneyland app. Once you purchase a one-day MaxPass entitlement, you are free to use its benefits for the remainder of that day. At the time of park closing, your MaxPass purchase expires. But don’t worry, your PhotoPass photos may still be downloaded up to 45 days from the date the photo was taken. This gives you the flexibility to choose which days you would like to purchase MaxPass without having to purchase it for all the days of your tickets.

If you plan on purchasing one-day Disney MaxPass using the Disneyland app, the process can be made even quicker if you do two things beforehand. First, store a payment method in your Disneyland account profile. This can be done either through a web browser or within the Disneyland app. Second, have your tickets linked to your account in the Disneyland app. You can even link in Disney eTickets beforehand. They will be automatically converted to your actual tickets in the app once you enter a park for the first time.

I hope you have a magical time, Janet!
