How busy is Disney World during the days past Christmas thru New Year's?

    Hi, Stephanie!

I love Christmastime at Walt Disney World...It's the most wonderful time of the year with kids off of school, families gathering, and the parks and resorts decorated so beautifully! But all this merriment has a downside as it is also the most crowded time of the year.

If you have a Christmas week trip planned, don't worry! You will just need to plan ahead. Start with having all your dining reservations booked. There will be little to no chance for any walk-ups at table service locations or buffets, so get your dining planned. If you prefer, stick to Quick Service which will not need reservations. Try to eat early or late, avoiding peak hours at the restaurants.

Make your FastPass+ selections. Zipping through those lines of the 3 FastPass+ selections will truly be the best gift of Christmas!

Finally, get an early start each day. Get into the parks, enjoy your time, then head back to your resort mid-day when the parks will be at their crowd peak. The Walt Disney World Resort hotels are glorious at the holidays so enjoy the decorations, have a leisurely lunch, and relax by the pool. Come evening, head back to the parks. They will still be crowded but hopefully manageable so you can enjoy the nighttime spectaculars.

Wishing you a magical Christmas a New Year filled with pixie dust!
