What is the busiest and slowest times of year? We are planning a trip the middle of Oct but, don't want to get over-run by crowds. Is that a good time to go? I have 4 kids to watch!

    Hi Alicia,

Mid-October is a great time to visit the Walt Disney World Resort!  Since school is in session for most children nationwide, park attendance is lower than during holidays and summer.  The only Disney theme park that might have slightly higher attendance than average would be Epcot because the International Food & Wine Festival is being held at that time.  No worries, though!  Just plan your visit to Epcot during a weekday (since many locals come to Food & Wine on the weekends) and be there at park opening time.  I think you'll find the wait times for most attractions quite reasonable.

And I have another word of advice regarding taking small children to Walt Disney World.  Soon after your arrival, make sure to introduce your kids to any cast member and point out their distinctive oval nametag. Make sure your kids know that if they are ever separated from you they should approach any cast member with that kind of nametag, as they will be happy to help them locate you quickly and safely.  Make sure each child has your cellphone number in a pocket or in some other secure location so they can present it to the cast member who is assisting them.  I certainly don't anticipate your children wandering off and being separated from you, but it's never a bad idea to be prepared.

Wishing you a magical October adventure!
