We are going on a budget and will only be there 2 nights with 2 day park hopper~ we have been to MK and HS before ~ how would you split up days and what restaurant should I reserve if I chose 1 ~ it’s just me and my 12 yr old daughter

    Hi Allison,

What a special trip you're planning! I'm honored to help! The last time I visited with my Disney Parks Moms Panel friends, many of us decided that we wanted to be on team "No Sleep." With only a short time at the most magical place on earth, we wanted to take full advantage of being there together. With two nights and two days, I'd encourage you to make the most of your trip and experience as much wonder and adventure as you can!

To me, a visit to the Walt Disney World Resort wouldn't be complete without visiting Magic Kingdom Park, so I'd definitely encourage you to do that. Beyond that, I could make a case for stopping by each park. The all new much-anticipated Toy Story Land will be open at Disney's Hollywood Studios, Avatar - The World of Pandora at Disney's Animal Kingdom is not-to-be-missed, and the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival will be happening during your visit, which brings lots of extra great food and fun to that wonderful park. If I were you, I'd try to spend at least a little bit of time at each theme park! If you're staying at a Disney Resort hotel, be sure to take advantage of Extra Magic Hours, as they will allow you extra time in the theme parks with lower crowds. Win win!

As for food, my 12-year-old daughter and I are planning a trip this fall, and she suggested breakfast together, which is a great way to experience a Table-service meal and save some money. We're going to try the breakfast buffet at The Wave... of American Flavors. Whispering Canyon Cafe is another delicious and fun option, too. Of course you can't go wrong with a Character Dining experience either, as they're always a blast!

I hope you and your daughter make lots of special memories together, Allison, and have a truly magical vacation!
