Kids on attraction

I have a broken toe so I have to wear a boot...am I still allowed to go on rides?

Hi, Angela! Thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

A couple of years ago, I found myself in a similar predicament. One week before our Walt Disney World Resort vacation (when I was supposed to run the Star Wars Rival Run Half Marathon), my orthopedist put me in a walking boot. I was devastated, but determined not to let it ruin my trip. With my orthopedist’s permission, I decided to carry on as planned.

I was still able to enjoy all of the attractions, but I decided to opt out of ones like Splash Mountain where the boot could potentially get wet. I did have a plastic bag to wrap around it for the inevitable rainy afternoons, and that was really the only accommodation I had to make. Depending on your pain level, you may be able to take advantage of Disney’s Disability Access Service which would allow you to avoid standing in the boot for elongated periods of time. I only had to use the Service once, but otherwise was able to use our FastPass+ experiences for the attractions with typically longer wait times.

I wish you the best of luck, Angela! My best advice would be to listen to your doctor and listen to your body and do what works best for you. If you need additional help during your Walt Disney World Resort vacation, inquire at Guest Services to see if there’s anything else they can do to help make your visit an enjoyable one.

    Have a magical day!
