We are bringing our 3 1/2 year old twins to Disney for their 4th birthday/1st visit in October. I am worried about wearing them out. Is it wise to plan a low key day at the resort. It has been so long since my last trip, I am not sure what to expect.

    Colleen:

If your stay can accommodate a full day at your resort, I certainly recommend it, especially with 4-year olds.  You didn't mention at which resort you were staying, but many have activities at the pool or in their main buildings. For example, Fort Wilderness offers dodge ball and Bingo; the Polynesian provides hula lessons and lei-making instructions.  You should receive a Weekly Activities sheet upon check-in that will list an activities at the resort. Of course, the pool provides endless enjoyment for my kids, and October will still have warm weather for swimming in Florida.

FYI: We usually like to make our "resort" day on Sunday, an especially busy day at the parks.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
