Hi, Moms! We're bringing our 2 year old to DisneyWorld May 1-7 for his first visit. We're hoping it won't be too crowded- does anyone have an idea about normal attendance at that time? Also, any helpful hints/tips are appreciated. Thanks!!

    Hi!
Congratulations on your upcoming vacation to Walt Disney World. Our son's first visit to WDW was at the age of 2 and we have such magical memories!

Crowds are moderate and with a good touring plan, you'll find it very easy to tour the parks.

May 1 if you tour on your first day, try Hollywood Studios and/or Epcot
    May 2 Epcot
    May 3 Magic Kingdom
    May 4 Magic Kingdom
    May 5 Hollywood Studios
    May 6 Animal Kingdom
May 7 Any park that you need to return too or just want to spend more time!

Allow for a slower pace. At the age of 2, our son was as interested in the ducks in the Rivers of America as the Peter Pan ride. Allow for spontaneous moments such as throwing pennies in a fountain. Cinderella's Fountain in Fantasyland was a favorite. Take breaks. Stop for a snack. Let your bundle of energy play in The Boneyard at the Animal Kingdom, on Tom Sawyer's Island at Epcot, at your hotel playground, etc. Don't underestimate the fun of the hotel pool. Take an afternoon break back at your hotel for a nap and/or swim.

Don't worry about seeing and doing everything. Really enjoy the magic through your child's eyes. It's okay to ride Dumbo two times in a row! My son is now 11 and I have fond memories of those earlier visits. Now, even as we race to Space Mountain, I still remember our first flights on Dumbo!

    Make magical memories!
