i am bringing my two nephews and two nieces Memorial Day Weekend for Star Wars, how crowded is this weekend? Also my niece is autistic. Will the park make any special accomodations to help her with the lines?

Hi Pamela! What a wonderful aunt you are! It will very likely be the case theme-park attendance will be higher than normal. However, I wouldn't let that deter you from visiting and enjoying Star Wars Weekends at Disney's Hollywood Studios. In addition, you may obtain a Guest Assistance Card (GAC) from Guest Relations at any Disney theme park. A GAC is for guests with a wide variety of special needs, including "invisible conditions" such as Autism. Each GAC will accommodate the bearer, and up to five other members of the travel party, by allowing access to alternate attraction entrances where available. Once you arrive at Guest Relations, please explain that you are traveling with a nonapparent special needs child. Be ready to describe your niece's specific challenges. The Guest Relations Cast Member will add a stamp to the GAC alerting attraction Cast Members as to the type of special assistance and accommodations she may require. Please be advised that in order to use the GAC, your niece must be present when entering each attraction. You won't be asked to provide proof of diagnosis, so you won't need a doctor's letter in order to request a GAC. However, it is always wise to bring medical documentation to have handy in case of any unforseen emergencies. Below you'll find a touring itinerary for the Memorial Day weekend:

    1. Saturday May 28, 2011: Tour Disney's Hollywood Studios. Experience Star Wars Weekends. Stay to watch Fantasmic! at 9:00 PM or 10:30 PM
    2. Sunday May 29, 2011: Explore Disney's Animal Kingdom or Epcot. If the latter, stay to watch IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth at 9:00 PM
    3. Monday May 30, 2011: Visit Magic Kingdom. Stay to watch Wishes Nighttime Spectacular at 10:00 PM

Please let me know if I may be able to answer any other questions for you. This is the year of making memories at the Walt Disney World Resort. May you family enjoy making many lasting memories together!
