We are bringing our son to meet Mickey for his 2nd birthday in September and can't decide between Disneyland or Disney World. We are considering weather, airport transit, hotel proximity for naps, etc. Any recommendations as we decide which to visit?

    Hello Heather!

This is a great question. It is actually a question I have pondered many many times. I love both of these Disney Destinations so much that it feels a little bit like asking "which of your children is your favorite?"

Walt Disney World has four fantastic theme parks, two splash-tastic water parks, and a world-class shopping and dining district (Disney Springs).  After more than a dozen visits I still have not experienced everything there is to see and do at this fantastic resort area.

On the other hand, Disneyland Resort includes two stellar parks, Downtown Disney, and all the Disneyland Resort Hotels are within easy walking distance to all of the attractions. Due to that and the seemingly perfect Southern California weather, I would give the edge to Disneyland Resort.  We recently visited with our 7-year-old grandson, and it was fantastic. In fact, when asked he will enthusiastically tell you that Disney California Adventure Park at the Disneyland Resort is his favorite theme park.

The best news is, with your little one being just two you have many years to celebrate on both coasts!

I hope this helps with your planning. If you have more questions, come on back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. We love to help!

    See ya real soon,
