Bringing Nana for her first visit in 2012. She just had gastric bypass. She's worried she's wasteing our money cause she can't eat big meals. Can we pay oop for her at sitdowns and use her credits for extra meals for the teens for breakfasts ? All same room

Hi, Denise! Yay! First visit to Walt Disney World for Nana! She's going to have a blast with your family.

Isn't it funny how we have to plan out every detail of a vacation when traveling with such a variety of people?  Our family is the same way.  We have some family members who eat like birds -- snacking throughout the day.  And then, we also have teenagers who like to "tank up" at one time and go for hours without stopping again.  You just have to be a little creative when you've paid for the Disney Dining Plan (DDP).

For starters, you can pay for Nana's meals on a cash basis (at any meal) and use the other meal credits to order extra meals then or later.  (Remember, you can always use table-service credits for a quick-service meal...just not vice versa.)  I would recommend that you plan your meals with Nana and make sure you don't waste her credits unnecessarily.  For instance, at Character Meals and Dinner Shows, she'll have to use  at least one of her credits for herself regardless since the entertainment is included in the price of the buffet, family-style service or pre fixe menu.

You're best "value" is going to be eating at table-service restaurants in which you can order an appetizer portion for Nana...or perhaps where someone else can help Nana finish her meal. For quick-service meals, it won't matter since you order the food and bring it to the table for everyone to pick and share. (We've often fed six people on five quick-service "meals" on the DDP.)

I hope this helps you plan. Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation!
